For my weekly NFL Mock Drafts, the draft order will be based on my power rankings (posted along with my Mocks) until week 9, when I will switch over to http://www.tankathon.com and their “if the draft was held today” order.

Pick Team Player 2024 Stats Commentary
1

Carolina Panthers

QB Carson Beck, Georgia – 6’4, 220 lbs 56-82, 680 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT I mentioned during my Week 2 mock that the Panthers may need to seriously consider life after Bryce Young. After another disastrous performance, the former number one overall pick has officially been benched. It is a catastrophic result, but one that was necessary. Carolina needs to just accept defeat with all of the ammunition they gave up to acquire Young, and move on. Carson Beck had a good game considering Kentucky gave Georgia all it could handle, throwing for 160 yards and not turning the ball over. He may not have Hall of Fame upside, but he is comparable to another former top pick from Georgia, Matthew Stafford. Beck should have a long career as a solid starter who does not make crippling mistakes. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a top pick, but he’s about as far away from Bryce Young as you can get, and that is what the Panthers need.
2 919

New York Giants

QB Quinn Ewers, Texas – 6’2, 210 lbs 58-79, 691 yards, 8 TD, 2 INT Nothing changes here. Despite a not-terrible game against the Commanders, Daniel Jones failed to deliver a win against a team that did nothing but kick field goals. I am a huge Quinn Ewers fan. He has a good arm, is mobile, and has that moxie and confidence that you love to see out of your quarterback. He did suffer an injury during Texas’ week 3 win, but it is not thought to be serious. Even with Arch Manning setting the world on fire in relief, he should retain his starting job when he is healthy.
3 1053

Tennessee Titans

CB Will Johnson, Michigan – 6’2, 202 lbs 10 tackles, 1 INT Will Levis is not the answer in Nashville, but the quarterbacks remaining are not good enough to pass up a true blue chip talent like Will Johnson. Johnson is my top rated prospect in this class. He has great size, natural ability and the ability to make plays, as evidenced by an 86 yard pick six earlier this year. He would more than make up for the failed Caleb Farley draft selection.

Denver Broncos

WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado – 6’1, 185 lbs 30 rec, 342 yards, 5 TD Travis Hunter is a true two way talent. He plays virtually the entire game every game. He has only been thrown at a handful of times on defense, and already has 5 touchdowns on offense. I am not sure he can hold up in the NFL, but that guy is just 185 pounds of pure energy, I would not put it past him. He gets to stay in the state of Colorado, and would make a true lock down cornerback duo with Patrick Surtain II, as well as a top receiving option for young quarterback Bo Nix.
5 683260482022

Washington Commanders

OT WIll Campbell, LSU – 6’6, 320 lbs N/A Jayden Daniels looks like he is going to be one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the NFL. The issue is he is probably 210 pounds, at best, meaning keeping him protected will be the top priority. What better way to do that than by bringing in his college teammate, Will Campbell. Campbell helped Daniels pave the way towards a Heisman Trophy, and has the prerequisite size and skills to become a franchise left tackle.
6 y71myf8mlwlk8lbgagh3fd5e0

New England Patriots

WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona – 6’5, 212 lbs 23 rec, 453 yards, 4 TD The Patriots drafted a new quarterback, which is good, but the skill positions and offensive lines are woefully under-talented. Tetairoa McMillan, that is more like it! After a strange week 2 dud, McMillan was back to his old tricks, hauling in 11 passes for 138 yards. McMillan is the type of tall, strong target hog that a young quarterback needs.
7 670885212020

Las Vegas Raiders

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado – 6’2, 215 lbs 85-121, 999 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT The hit pieces are coming fast and furious in regards to Shedeur Sanders. The media hates his father, and has made it their mission to attack his son. It’s quite pathetic, but I suppose that comes with the territory. On the field, Sanders is putting up another great season. He flings the ball all over the field, finds his star receivers and holds up against constant pressure. The Raiders obviously need a quarterback. They are one of the few franchise in the NFL without an established star or a developmental option.
8 594183342020

Los Angeles Rams

CB Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame – 6’0, 190 lbs 9 tackles The Rams have allowed the most yards and points in the NFL through the teams first two weeks. Both Jameson Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. put up monster performances. There is more to it than just a poor secondary, but the secondary is, in fact, pretty terrible. This draft has three cornerback prospects who would be the top guy most other draft cycles. Benjamin Morrison is a fantastic athlete who has translated his skills into 9 interceptions during his first two seasons at Notre Dame.
9 593

Indianapolis Colts

DT Mason Graham, Michigan – 6’3, 320 lbs 9 tackles The Colts are here in large part due to a complete lack of effectiveness against the run. The defense has given up 474 rushing yards in two games. The team has invested early picks at defensive end, and here they try to shore up the interior. Mason Graham leads an impressive list of defensive tackles in this class. He’s strong yet agile and more than just a run stuffer.
10 15988562013

Jacksonville Jaguars

OT Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas – 6’4, 320 lbs N/A Cam Robinson will be a free agent after the season, and the Jaguars have been looking to upgrade that position regardless. Kelvin Banks Jr. is an extremely talented, athletic left tackle who is apart of perhaps the best offense in college football. He can play anywhere along the offensive line.
11 299

Atlanta Falcons

DE Mykel Williams, Georgia – 6’5, 265 lbs 2 tackles The Falcons, famously, or perhaps infamously, have drafted an offensive player in the top ten during the past four drafts. Youth on defense is desperately needed. Mykel Williams, a Georgia native, has missed games this year with some bumps and bruises, but that should not be an issue long term. He has top five pick upside, but is still developing his pass rushing moves at the college level. He could have a Travon Walker-like rise once he gets into the pre-draft process.
12

Cleveland Browns

QB Cam Ward, Miami – 6’2, 223 lbs 65-89, 1035 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT In an ideal world the Browns would pull a Denver Broncos move by admitting a mistake and ridding themselves of Deshaun Watson. The fully guaranteed contract would be a killer on the salary cap, but Cleveland might not have any choice. Watson is that bad, and the constant off the field distractions are not worth it. Cam Ward has had an interesting career. He went from Incarnate Word to Washington State, and now looks like serious Heisman Trophy candidate with the Miami Hurricanes. He is experienced and ready to step in to a pro-style offense.
13 15420492021

Cincinnati Bengals

WR Luther Burden III, Missouri – 5’11, 208 lbs 13 rec, 181 yards, 2 TD The Bengals have no long term option at tight end, and could end up losing Tee Higgins after the season. This team needs someone to take some pressure off of Ja’Marr Chase. Luther Burden III had his best game of the 2024 season, catching 6 passes with 117 yards and a touchdown. He is a great route runner and extremely tough.
14 364

Chicago Bears

DT Deone Walker, Kentucky – 6’6, 345 lbs N/A It is very important to not panic after two games, but the Bears offense is on par with the Carolina Panthers as the most pathetic in the league. Caleb Williams will figure things out, but things will not be as easy as the media made it seem. Chicago goes with defense here, however, with  monster defensive tackle Deone Walker. Walker is an unbelievable athlete for a man his size, showing serious pass rushing skills to go along with his run defense.
15 pfiobtreaq7j0pzvadktsc6jv

Seattle Seahawks

QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama – 6’2, 225 lbs 35-52, 590 yards, 8 TD, 0 INT Geno Smith has had an amazing late career renaissance, but eventually the Seahawks will have to develop a young replacement. Jalen Milroe has gotten the job done so far this year for Alabama, managing the game well, making timely throws and not turning the ball over. He may be a glorified game manager who can also run on occasion at the NFL level, but if guys like Bo Nix can go in the first round, so can Milroe. Quarterbacking is that important at the NFL level.
16 15073062018

Miami Dolphins

DT Walter Nolen, Ole Miss – 6’3, 305 lbs 8 tackles The Dolphins had to say goodbye to Christian Wilkins, and used the bargain bin during free agency to replenish the defensive line. Walter Nolen could be a good replacement as a 3-4 pass rusher. The former top overall recruit has 5 sacks during his career and is still scratching the surface of his immense potential.
17 17227042013

Minnesota Vikings

EDGE James Pearce Jr., Tennessee – 6’5, 243 lbs 1 tackle Minnesota is off to a great start in 2024, which may put them out of the range of the top cornerbacks in this draft. The Vikings go with the best player available, which could be James Pearce Jr. Pearce Jr. is off to a very slow start for Tennessee, but had 9.5 sacks as a true sophomore. He and Dallas Turner could make for a very strong pass rushing duo in a year or two.
18 kwth8f1cfa2sch5xhjjfaof90

Arizona Cardinals

EDGE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State – 6’5, 260 lbs 5 tackles, 1 sack The Cardinals offense looks playoff worthy. The defense, however, needs talent upgrades pretty much everywhere. I like Jack Sawyer. He is not always pretty to look at, but he is a solid all around end, able to hold up against the run and get after the quarterback. He should have little issue transitioning to a 3-4 outside linebacker in Arizona’s scheme.
19 15291162019

New York Jets

OT Emery Jones Jr., LSU – 6’6, 315 lbs 49-72, 689 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT The Jets drafted Olu Fashanu as its left tackle of the future in 2024. Why not fortify the right side of the line as well? Especially considering the Jets are probably going to lean on Aaron Rodgers for another year or two. Emery Jones Jr. is overshadowed by Will Campbell at LSU, but is a legit first rounder in his own right.
20 970

Pittsburgh Steelers

RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State – 5’9, 215 lbs 45 carries, 459 yards, 9 TD Pittsburgh will always be too good to draft a top quarterback, so surrounding whoever that may be with skill position talent is important. Najee Harris is one of the most plodding, inefficient running backs in the NFL. Ashton Jeanty is a homerun waiting to happen. His stats are a solid entire season for most guys, and he has done all of that in only two games. He is a true three down threat.
21 318

Baltimore Ravens

OT Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona – 6’5, 330 lbs N/A An unspeakable loss at home to the lowly Raiders has the Ravens scrambling. I still believe this is a Super Bowl caliber roster, but they cannot afford to lose any more games like that if they want to stay afloat in the hyper competitive AFC, especially with how brutal the schedule is early on. Baltimore has one of the deeper rosters in the NFL, but the offensive line is a group in flux. Jonah Savaiinaea plays tackle for Arizona, but has the potential to be a Pro Bowl guard at the NFL level.
22

Green Bay Packers

CB Denzel Burke, Ohio State – 6’1, 193 lbs 4 tackles, 1 INT The Packers are a deep, talented, well coached team. They are also a franchise that often lets its free agents depart, and almost always spends first round picks on the defensive side of the ball. Denzel Burke could have been a day two pick in the 2024 draft, but chose to return to Ohio State for his senior season to improve his draft stock. So far so good. He has an interception to his name and the opposing offenses are staying away from him for the most part.
23 17013982017

Detroit Lions

DE JT Tuimoloau, Ohio State – 6’5, 269 lbs 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks The Lions willl thank Jacksonville for passing on Aidan Hutchinson (4.5 sacks during a week two win) for the next decade, but the team could still use a solid pass rusher opposite him. JT Tuimoloau has put together a workman-like, solid career for the Buckeyes, showing pass rushing ability and quality run defense. He should be a solid starter at the NFL level.
24 406

Dallas Cowboys

RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State – 6’0, 219 lbs 22 carries, 163 yards, 3 TD The running back duo of Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle are struggling to average over 3.5 yards per carry during the first two games. Fortunately for them, this running back class looks extremely deep. Ashton Jeanty, Quinshon Judkins, Ollie Gordon and TreVeyon Henderson all look like potential round 1 picks. Judkins is off to a blazing start for his new school, averaging almost 8 yards per carry for Ohio State. He would instantly be the top dog in Dallas.
25 644616602020

Los Angeles Chargers

TE Colston Loveland, Michigan – 6’5, 245 lbs 19 rec, 187 yards, 1 TD I am not going to be cute and mock a bunch of Wolverines to Jim Harbaugh’s new team. Unless the fit makes sense, of course. This one does. Colston Loveland has been a target hog for a bad Michigan passing attack, hauling in 16 passes through two games. The Chargers offense is built around the run, but adding a safety net like Loveland would be a solid addition.
26 17683632020

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State – 5’10, 208 lbs 18 carries, 131 yards, 2 TD How good would this Buccaneers offense be with an actual running game? TreVeyon Henderson is one of several potential day one draft picks at running back. The former top recruit has been a quality contributor during his four seasons at Ohio State, and scouts will like the fact that he does not have 1,000 carries under his belt. He has three down, lead back ability.
27 960

Philadelphia Eagles

SS Malaki Starks, Georgia – 6’1, 205 lbs 11 tackles, 1 INT Philadelphia drafted cornerbacks with its first two picks in 2024, and goes back to the secondary once again with Malaki Starks. Starks is a playmaking safety who can pick off passes and chase down ball carriers. He could be an instant starter in the NFL.
28

Houston Texans

DT Tyleik Williams, Ohio State – 6’3, 327 lbs 9 tackles, 1.5 sacks It has not always been pretty, but Houston is sitting at 2-0 on the season, and looks like the clear class of the NFC South. They did what a team with a quarterback on a rookie contract should do, and that is load up on veterans. The best player available approach would be smart here. Tyleik Williams is the third Ohio State defensive lineman in my mock, and he may be the most talented of the bunch. A supreme athlete, he is off to a fantastic start for the Buckeyes, with 1.5 sacks on the season.
29 17994552009

San Francisco 49ers

DE Nic Scourton, Texas A&M – 6’4, 285 lbs 4 tackles, 1 sack The 49ers are probably the best team in the NFC, but the defense is aging in a hurry and could use reinforcements. Nic Scourton is the best of a deep Texas A&M defensive line, even without Walter Nolen and JT Overton. He has great size and is a solid athlete.
30 n0fd1z6xmhigb0eej3323ebwq

Buffalo Bills

WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State – 6’1, 205 lbs 9 rec, 149 yards The Bills traded Stephon Diggs during the off-season. While they drafted Keon Coleman as a potential replacement, the team needs more. Emeka Egbuka looked like a sure fire first round pick with CJ Stroud throwing to him in 2022, but has failed to replacate that success since. He took a back seat to stud Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2023 and may do the same to freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith this year. Still, he has the strength and route running ability to be a solid second option in the NFL.
31 907

New Orleans Saints

OG Tyler Booker, Alabama – 6’5, 325 lbs N/A No team has dominated during the first two weeks like the New Orleans Saints. They will come back down to earth eventually, but they look like a serious threat in a wide open NFC. They should continue to rebuild an aging offensive line. Tyler Booker is the best interior line prospect in this class. He has great size and quite a bit of experience.
32 857

Kansas City Chiefs

OLB Harold Perkins Jr., LSU – 6’1, 225 lbs 14 tackles The Chiefs are a full blown dynasty, which means they are going to pick at the very end of the first round every single year. It is tough to keep enough young talent in the pipeline, so Kansas City could just go best non-quarterback here. Harold Perkins Jr. is undersized, but a great athlete and a talented off the ball linebacker. He uses his quickness to chase down ball carriers as well as get to the quarterback.
